CSUMB speech program restores voice to a community in need

During a speech-language pathology session at Cal State Monterey Bay, Chuck Martin's humorous identification of a gift sparked a word-finding exercise, highlighting the program’s focus on aiding clients with communication difficulties due to strokes or brain injuries. The master's program, which began in 2022, prepares students through diverse practicum experiences and is crucial for Monterey County’s long-term recovery therapy needs. With high certification exam success, the program aims for full accreditation in 2025. Read more here

Two of CSUMB’s top students honored with Provost’s Award

Patrick Broderick and Ashley Vanderpan have been honored with the Cal State Monterey Bay Provost Award for Exemplary Academic Achievement. Broderick, an agricultural plant and soil sciences major, and Vanderpan, a master’s student in speech-language pathology, were recognized for their exceptional academic performance and contributions as mentors and scholars.
