Miranda Sampson grew up in Watsonville, California, surrounded by beautiful agricultural fields. She says she always had an interest in science and decided to channel that passion into the study of agricultural sustainability and responsibility. She cultivated her interest in agriculture as a member of 4-H for ten years. She served as Vice President of the Aptos 4-H Club for two of those years and as County All-Star Ambassador for one year.

Miranda came to CSUMB in 2020 as a transfer student from Cabrillo College with an Associate's Degree in Business Administration and Management. She enrolled as a Business major with a concentration in Agribusiness.  During her time at CSUMB, she served on the College of Business Student Advisory Council and worked on campus as a Peer Mentor at CSUMB’s Transfer Student Success Center helping fellow transfer students navigate CSUMB's resources and services.

Miranda joined the Agribusiness Club and served as vice president, then as president in her senior year. She worked with the club’s advisor Professor Scott Fausti and club members to organize the Agribusiness Club Speaker Series which was open to all majors and hosted managers and executives from the agribusiness industry. CSUMB’s Interclub Council recognized the speaker series as the “Educational Event of the Year” for the academic year 2021-22. Her academic excellence and extracurricular activities also led her to qualify as a recipient of the Tanimura Family Foundation Scholarship

After working in an internship at Tanimura & Antle in the summer of 2021 and winter of 2021-22 as an HR Data Analyst, Miranda was offered a full-time position at Tanimura & Antle as a Data Analyst, which she accepted. She celebrates her 1-year work anniversary at Tanimura & Antle this month!
