The Environmental Science, Technology & Policy (ESTP) program offers an innovative interdisciplinary B.S. degree program linking natural science, physical science, technology, economics, and policy. The Environmental Studies major at CSUMB provides students with the broad foundation in environmental science, social science, economics, policy, humanities and communication needed to promote sustainability in an increasingly complex and interdependent world. The major prepares students for graduate programs in environmental education, public health, public policy, law, urban and regional planning, media arts, and sustainability or entry-level employment with governmental, non-profit, and entrepreneurial organizations.
The Environmental Science Master of Science Program is an innovative interdisciplinary 2 year program offering training in science and technology in the context of environmental policy. Located at the nexus of world class research institutes, state and regional preserves, the Fort Ord National Monument, and the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, CSU Monterey Bay is a prime location for studying the interconnection between watershed, terrestrial and marine environments. Offering two tracks, a professional internship or thesis, students have the flexibility to structure their graduate experience around their professional interests. Following completion of the program, students are equipped to pursue careers in applied scientific research, environmental resource management, environmental consulting, industry, government and non-profit organizations, environmental education, and further education in doctoral programs.
