Earn a bachelor's degree

Cal State Monterey Bay provides an extraordinary opportunity for international students to earn a bachelor's degree at a comprehensive four-year university. The comprehensive list of majors and programs offer students hands-on experience in an intimate classroom setting from passionate and engaging faculty. Degree-seeking international students are fully integrated in the campus community from classes to housing. 

Graduate or post-baccalaureate programs

Continue your education by pursing a master's, credential, or certificate program at Cal State Monterey Bay. CSUMB offers a wide variety of programs with different admission requirements, program length, and course information. View your specific program interest for detailed information. 

Semester@ and gap year

Our semester and year programs are a great way for international students to experience American culture, advance your degree, and improve English proficiency. International students live and study with Americans and can participate in all campus clubs and activities.

Exchange programs

Students can exchange places through our partner universities around the world, National Student Exchange (NSE) program, California State University International Programs (CSUIP), or sponsored organization. 

American Language and Culture Program (ALCP)

Visiting students can study and enhance their English skills through our American Language and Culture Program (ALCP). ALCP is taught by ESL experts and the program length varies from 4 or 8 weeks, a semester, or a year.

Conditional admission

Conditional admission is an ideal program for students who are interested in pursuing a degree at CSUMB and meet the academic requirements for admission, but require further instruction in English Language. These students will study as part of our ALCP program until ready for matriculating to the university as a degree student.
