Mentorship Program at the College of Business
We are a different kind of college. Half of our students are the first in their families to attend college. These students need mentorship in many ways, from understanding the marketplace to writing resumes, preparing for interviews, and crafting their bios.
Our goal is not only to provide an education, but to ensure our students feel confident, understand the marketplace, and are prepared to succeed in new professional environments.
Empowering Future Leaders at CSUMB
“I don’t want anyone to have to go through the difficulties I went through coming up in my career. That’s why I’m connecting CSUMB students to mentors while they’re still in college.” — Sharon Crino
Led by former Kodak executive and Monterey County Red Cross Chair Sharon Crino, this unique in-class mentoring program brings real-world experience into the classroom. Working closely with faculty, Crino brings 3 to 5 mentors into each course to interact directly with students.
Mentors talk about their career journeys, connect with students in small groups, and offer practical insights. The program is built into the curriculum, and students prepare ahead of time so they can get the most from the experience.
