Scholarships are awarded as money that can be used to pay for educational expenses. Scholarships do not need to be paid back and are a great way to pay for your expenses.

Mahito Shirako Scholarship Fund

  • Major: Cinematic Arts and Technology
  • Class Level: Undergrad: Junior and Senior
  • Enrollment Requirement: Full Time
  • Financial Need: Based on Need
  • Citizenship: US Citizens/AB540
  • GPA: Minimum cumulative 2.00

The Genevieve Giammanco Memorial Scholarship

  • Major: Cinematic Arts
  • Class Level: Undergrad: Junior and Senior
  • Enrollment Requirement: Full Time
  • Financial Need: Based on Need
  • Citizenship: US Citizens/AB540
  • GPA: Minimum cumulative 2.50
  • Priority given to: veterans, under-privileged students, first-generation, or returning/re-entry students.

Monterey County Film Commission

  • Must be currently enrolled for at least 9 units at a Community College, University or accredited post-secondary film school in Monterey County. Application must include official proof of current registration from the Registrar.
  • Be age 18 or older. Applicant must include a photocopy of a government-issued photo identification showing date of birth and current address.
  • Have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher. Applicant must include a copy of transcript(s) for all prior college-level work (unofficial copies are acceptable).
  • Provide two (2) “Applicant Assessment” forms from two (2) different people familiar with the applicant’s work.

  • Write a Statement of Project Purpose (250 words or less) showing strong commitment to specific goals as a filmmaker.
  • Write a Statement of Financial Need (250 words or less) documenting financial details and explaining specifically how the scholarship money will be used.
  • Write a Statement of Prior Film-Related Project(s) (500 words or less) on which the applicant worked. Statement should explain the applicant’s area(s) of responsibility, his/her effect on the project(s) overall, and if applicable, how that experience relates to and/or inspires your proposed Project Purpose.

Judith and Malcolm Weintraub Endowed Scholarship for Cinematic Arts & Technology

  • Major: Cinematic Arts & Technology
  • Class Level:Undergraduate
  • Enrollment Requirement: Full Time
  • Financial Need: Based on Need

Suzanne W. Killian and Jack R. Killian Scholarship for Arts and Communications

  • Major: Music and Performing Arts, Visual and Public Art, Human Communication, and Cinematic Arts and Technology
  • Class Level: Undergrad: Available to Freshmen, Sophomore, Juniors, Seniors
  • Enrollment Requirement: Full Time
  • Financial Need: Based on Need
  • Citizenship: US Citizens/AB540
  • GPA: Minimum cumulative 2.50

Cadillac Endowed Scholarship Fund
