Program Fees

We do everything we can to acquire grants to offer free educational programming to everyone. When funding falls short we can still offer services through our fee-based programs. All fees for service funds the Habitat Stewardship Project, Monterey Bay Education Outreach Programs.

Programs at Your School:

A HSPMB staff person will visit your school for a one-hour class. Lessons involve but are not limited to native California plants and habitat and watershed restoration. Lessons can be adapted to your classroom needs and California State Academic Standards. HSPMB staff persons speak basic Spanish. Lessons in full Spanish may be possible based on availability of Spanish speaking staff.

Programs at your School Fees:

Fees:$100 per class (up to 30 students; $3 each for additional students). There is an additional $10 travel fee for schools within 15 miles of CSUMB, $20 for over 15 miles (up to 30 miles), over 30 miles .96 cents/mile.

Field Trips:

HSPMB field trips follow the cycle of restoration: Fall- seed sowing/collection, Winter/Early Spring- planting into restoration sites, Late Spring & Summer- monitoring & maintenance of sites and seed collection. Most field trips will consist of an aspect of habitat restoration at one of our restoration sites (Ft. Ord, Creeks of Salinas, Ft. Ord Dunes) or at the CSUMB Watershed Institute usually combined with a natural history hike. But we are adaptable to your needs!

Field Trip Fees:

Half-Day Field Trips: (1-3 hours) $10 per student (minimum of 10 students). Full-Day Field Trips: (3+ hours) $15 per student (minimum of 10 students).
