Outreach Docent

Help spread the word about Habitat Stewardship Project, Monterey Bay (HSPMB) at farmers markets, fairs, and other festive events. Raise awareness about habitat restoration environmental education and the impact of HSPMB's volunteer actions on the watershed that flow into the Monterey Bay!

Volunteer requirements

  • Enjoy talking to and meeting new people
  • Have a reliable form of transportation
  • Can break down or set up tabling supplies
  • It is helpful, but not necessary, to have the ability to drive supplies locations in Marina, Seaside, or Salinas.

When and where

These opportunities are occasional and are held throughout the year. Examples of events volunteers would help table at include the Community Day at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, story time at the Salinas Library, Native Plant Society’s Wild Flower Show, Youth Expo, the Boys and Girls Club Career Extravaganza, and many Earth Day Events.

Training and orientation

Mandatory training in early fall, with rolling trainings throughout the year. Training dates to be announced.
