About Habitat Stewardship Project, Monterey Bay
Habitat Stewardship Project, Monterey Bay (HSPMB), formerly Return of the Natives, is an environmental education program dedicated to involving students (kindergarten through university) and local communities in habitat restoration.
HSPMB is the education and outreach branch of The Watershed Institute at California State University, Monterey Bay. Based at CSUMB, HSPMB helps the university fulfill its mission by providing service opportunities for students and working closely with the Service Learning Institute.
HSPMB's environmental goal is to protect the waters of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary through restoration of the waterways and the lands draining into the bay. HSPMB's social goal is to bring people and nature together on our restoration and education projects in the watersheds of Monterey County from the Monterey Peninsula to North Monterey County and from Salinas to San Ardo.
