AMWS student Alex Snyder is leading an effort to map the outcomes of a beach nourishment project by the City of Monterey. The mapping is done using mobile topographic laser scannar (LiDAR) mounted on a beach cart, yielding a precise 3D image of the beach and dunes. The project is led by Dr Doug Smith of the Watershed Geology lab and Dr Rikk Kvitek of the Seafloor Mapping Lab.
