Department of Applied Environmental Science
Faculty Profile
John Olson, Ph.D.
I study how rivers and lakes, and the organism that live in them, are influenced by their watersheds. I then work to develop ways to use this knowledge to improve freshwater health and management. Recent projects include modeling water chemistry to establish nutrient criteria nationwide, examining the effects of river restoration, and using environmental DNA and models to monitor and manage endangered species.
