Project ROOTS

ROOTS: Residents Offering Outstanding Teaching for Students Project

Program Features:

$40,000 in scholarship funds available to cover education and living expenses while you complete your co-teaching residency at one of our partner schools

Residents will earn their preliminary credential alongside an expert mentor teacher at the end of year 1, allowing them to begin teaching in their own classrooms in year 2 as they complete MA coursework

Scholarship Requirements:

Award recipients must commit to teach in a partner school district for 3 years after receiving their preliminary credential

Recipients must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher

Partner Districts:

To qualify for the scholarship you must be admitted into the Masters + Secondary or Elementary Education Credential Program and be placed as a resident in one of our partner school districts:

  • Alisal Union School District
  • Greenfield Union School District
  • Salinas Union High School District

This project is funded under the US Dept. of Ed. TQP program authorized under Title II of the Higher Education Act
