Background & Experience

Michelle "Chelle" Tran, M.S. was born and raised in the Northern California Bay Area and brings a passion for social justice, advocacy, and multiculturalism to her work. She has previous experience with children, adolescents, and adults in community mental health centers that served low-income communities, and she also has university counseling experience through placements at Santa Clara University and University of San Francisco.

Chelle brings a humanistic, culturally-informed, and interpersonal style to her clinical work. Her areas of interest include interpersonal relationships, resilience, burnout, adjustment issues, LGBTQ+ issues, intersecting identities, non-monogamous relationships, depression, and anxiety. She also has a passion for outreach, particularly involving addressing stigma surrounding mental health issues, increasing mental health literacy, and addressing systemic and individual barriers to accessing mental healthcare.

In her spare time, she likes to play video games, listen to sports podcasts, experiment in the kitchen, and hang out with her little dog. Chelle is also a taekwondo master and amateur musician, and she has interest in integrating creativity and movement in addressing overall physical and mental wellness.

Education

Chelle received her M.S. in Clinical Psychology and a PhD in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in diversity and community mental health from Palo Alto University. She completed a B.S. in Psychology and a minor degree in Public Health from Santa Clara University in 2012.
