Jessica Lopez, MS, MFT

Background

Jessica is a Marriage and Family Therapist from Salinas, CA. She enjoys spending time with her husband and children. She also enjoys time with other family members, planning social gatherings, and anything that sparks her competitive spirit.

She joined the Personal Growth & Counseling Center in Fall 2009 as a trainee, and is happy to provide individual and group services to students. Jessica enjoys supporting students in meeting their academic and personal goals, working through identity issues, addressing relationship concerns, and addressing issues related to anxiety and depression. She appreciates and values the unique cultural experiences each person brings to counseling. She believes counseling is a collaborative experience and hopes people leave her office feeling empowered, insightful, and motivated to engage in positive changes within their lives.

Jessica also loves providing training and workshops on issues related to mental health.

Experience

Jessica has experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, adults, and families. She has worked with the YWCA of Monterey County and has collaborated with elementary schools within the Monterey Peninsula.

Education

Jessica received her B.A. in Psychology and Chicano/a Studies from UC Davis in 2007. She attended California State University, Sacramento, and received her M.S. in Counseling in 2010. The emphasis of her graduate program was in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling.
