- Are you enrolled at CSUMB for the upcoming Fall semester? (Incoming Fall admits are not eligible for Summer Housing.)
If you meet these criteria, you're eligible to apply for Summer Housing!
Now, let’s see if you are eligible for Same Space.
If you plan to stay in East Campus for summer and fall 2025, you’ll need to select the same space in both the Summer Housing Application and Reservation Day applications. If you don’t, you won’t be able to keep your current space.

Summer Sessions and Rates Overview
5b3. East Campus: Residents approved to reside in East Campus units during the summer will continue to pay the Spring 2025 monthly rate through May 31, 2025. Summer residents that will continue to reside in their current space for Fall will have their Fall housing rate start on June 1, 2025.
Cancellation Policy
As a reminder, you are encouraged to apply for Summer Housing even if you are still unsure if you will need to stay on campus. Based on your session, you can cancel your application up to two weeks before the session start date without incurring any fees. After this window, a $100 cancellation fee will apply. Please review Section 11 of the Summer Housing License for more details.

Frequently Asked Questions
At this time, we are asking all residents who are not eligible for summer housing to prepare to check out at the end of the academic year license agreement. If you will not be applying for summer housing and are seeking an extension or delayed departure from the check out deadline, please email us with your request for review. Extensions will not be available for students currently living in Promontory A in order to prepare for summer housing.
You will continue to pay your academic year monthly rate for your East Campus unit for summer through May 30, 2025. If you are continuing to live on campus for Fall, your Fall housing rate will begin August 1, 2025.
We encourage you to communicate with your supporters about the upcoming summer months to proactively plan for move out on May 18, 2025. If you need additional resources or assistance, you can find resource information through CSUMB Basic Needs. There are financial resources available through Basic Needs as well and these can be found on the COVID-19: Campus and Community Resource List.
Our transition to summer housing will occur from July 25 - July 28, 2025. A daily rate will apply from the end of the Summer session until the Fall license period begins. All summer residents need to plan to be available during this weekend in order to transition to fall housing. Inability to move during this weekend may result in additional fees due to delay in work, and double occupancy of spaces.
Summer housing assignments will be made on a rolling basis once students are approved for housing. Once you complete all requirements for your summer application, more communication will follow. Our Assignment Specialists will continue to do their best in accommodating a smooth transition but it is not guaranteed your fall assignment will be vacant and prepared by the start of summer housing.
