Undergraduate Research Resources

The California State University System deeply values undergraduate research. Each year they host a system-wide research competition. In 2021, two CSUMB students did very well!

Undergraduate Claudia Rocha took first place for her work titled: “’WE WILL GET THROUGH THIS!’: Using Youth Participatory Action Research as a Tool to Advocate for Latinx Youth During the COVID- 19 Pandemic.”

Undergraduate Paul Dommert landed second place with “Understanding the Psychology of Transformation: A Mixed Methods Investigation into the Dynamics of Significant Psychological Change.”

Their research was supported by the professional staff at our Undergraduate Research Opportunity Center (UROC).  Visit the UROC web pages, whether you are just now thinking about getting into research, or are already working in a faculty research lab.

They might have funding to support your work!

UROC staff focus on supporting your mentored research. The staff will also show you how to leverage your research experience into a successful transition to graduate studies following your undergraduate experience.

Authentic research creates new knowledge.  Researchers share their creative works through publication. Your published work is then the foundation from which others can build yet newer ideas and scholarship. When you write—write for publication.
