Performing and Visual Arts

About our Alumni

Music students often pursue careers in the performing arts across commercial, independent, and community sectors.  Our alumni produce concerts, mixes, musicals, scores, performances, sound installations, texts, talks, electroacoustic compositions, and interactive and experimental multimedia work in a variety of collaborative, independent, and cross-disciplinary projects. Courses develop skills and experience in all aspects of music making, including producing, performing, analyzing, composing, songwriting, mixing, editing, documenting, marketing, and programming.

VPA students are increasingly prepared for next level academic endeavors that engage the benefits of a degree program. For example, VPA alumni have pursued social-based graduate degree programs in Design and Media (MA), Master of Social Work (MAW), Social and Community Services (MA), and Material and Visual Culture (MA), as well as fine art graduate programs in Studio Art (MFA), Architecture (MFA), Visual Studies (MFA), and Creative Writing (MFA).
