SAFE ZONE

Safe Zone is an 6-hour training designed by and for CSUMB faculty and staff to 1) promote visible support for LGBTQQIAAPF (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, Ally, Pansexual, Fluid) students at CSUMB, 2) foster and build a stronger LGBTQQIAAPF and ally community, and 3) increase LGBTQQIAAPF advocacy on and off campus.

The curriculum was developed by Student Affairs staff members rita zhang (former Coordinator of the Otter Cross Cultural Center and now U.C. Berkeley's Asian Pacific American Student Development Program Coordinator), Jen Crompton (Residential Housing and Student Life), Kelly Ernst (Student Activities), Steven Goings (Service Learning Institute), and CSUMB faculty member Deb Burke (Associate Professor, Service Learning Institute).
