COS Welcomes New Dean
Please join us in welcoming Dr. Andrew Lawson, new dean of the College of Science, who took charge July 1st.
"I am super excited about the opportunity to have him as our new dean," said outgoing COS Interim Dean, Dr. Sharon Anderson, "he brings strong leadership skills (in a shared governance kind of way) to our college. We are very lucky to have him as our new fearless leader!!!"
Andrew comes to us from Fresno State, where he most recently served as Interim Dean of the College of Science and Math, after a stint as Associate Dean. Prior to becoming a dean, he was Professor and Chair of Plant Sciences in the Ag College at Fresno State, where he taught undergraduate and graduate courses in entomology, integrated pest management, biological control, statistics and experimental design, and had an active research program in integrated pest management and biological control of insect in urban and agricultural systems.
