Hojin Song

Dr. Hojin Song is interested in how media influence and are influenced by popular culture and identities of gender and youth, especially in the South Korean context. Her research also revolves around food and media, which are fundamentally related to collective and personal identities. Dr. Song teaches media courses such as "Social Impact of Mass Media" and "Social Media Theory and Practice." She enjoys helping students understand the importance of critical examination and evaluation of media in everyday life.

Dr. Song earned her Ph.D. in Media Studies at the University of Iowa.
