Dr. Viren accepted the appointment with enthusiasm, saying, "Travel and tourism are critical economic drivers for California, and I’m honored to work alongside an incredible team of leaders. As Chair of the Sustainability & Stewardship Committee, I look forward to educating members on best practices, bringing in thought leaders, and exploring strategies that positively impact the environment, our members’ businesses, and California’s brand. We will collaborate with partners like Visit California and U.S. Travel to enhance sustainability efforts across the state."

CalTravel is California’s only statewide organization that represents the full travel, tourism, and hospitality industry. It has 240 member organizations, including destinations, resorts, attractions, airports, transportation companies, cruise lines, universities, and more. CalTravel actively protects and advances the interests of California’s travel industry through advocacy, collaboration, and education.
