The College of Business Progresses Toward AACSB Accreditation

Following the approval of the Eligibility Application in March 2017, the faculty and staff of the College of Business completed the Initial Self Evaluation Report (ISER) during the 2017-2018 Academic Year.

The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International is the premier international accrediting body for schools and colleges of business. AACSB International accreditation is granted to only 5% of schools worldwide.

The AACSB Mentor, Dr. Norm Solomon, former Dean of the College of Business Administration at Fairfield University, was instrumental in guiding and providing advice throughout the ISER process. Director of AACSB Accreditation, Babita Gupta; AACSB Accreditation Coordinator Callie Chastain; and Assurance of Learning Director, Pat Tinsley McGill provided COB leadership for the process. The ISER will be reviewed at the November 2018 meeting of AACSB’s Initial Accreditation Committee.

I want to congratulate the College of Business for earning approval of its initial application for accreditation by the AACSB. Final AASCB accreditation would place the College among the 5 percent of business schools in the world that have achieved this blue-ribbon accreditation.
