This emergency grant is designed to provide financial assistance to undocumented students with the following extenuating expenses: medical services, books, legal fees, and other emergency expenses as determined by the Undocu-Success Center Program Coordinator and the Director of College Support Programs. All requests will be reviewed to determine eligibility based on the information provided. Award amounts will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Applying for an emergency fund does not guarantee an award.
Funding is subject to availability.

• Be in good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 2.5.
• Be an Undergraduate, Teaching Credential, or a Graduate student enrolled in at least half-time.
• Submit appropriate documentation to support financial needs and demonstrate how this grant will enable you to stay in school.Can I apply in the summer?
No, the application is only open during Fall and Spring.
Do I have to submit supporting documentation?
Yes, in order to submit an application you must attach supporting documentation.
Can I apply for the award more than once?
The award is limited to one student per semester e.g. (Fall & Spring).
What is the maximum award amount?
The award is limited to $500 per student per semester.
Do I have to submit a "thank you" letter to the Undocu-Success Center?
Yes, in order for funds to be disbursed. You will receive additional instructions via email.
Can I reapply if my application was denied?
Yes, you are encouraged to reapply if the extenuating emergency circumstances have changed.
The CSUMB Emergency Fund, awarded through the Basic Needs Initiative, seeks to provide immediate financial assistance for students who may encounter temporary financial hardship due to unforeseen and catastrophic life events. All efforts are being made to distribute funds as quickly as possible but the process could take up to 3-4 weeks.

Student Emergency Fund
The College of Science Dean’s office, in conjunction with the Office of Financial Aid, provides funding for College of Science students so that they may apply for a small (up to $500) grant to assist with emergency expenses that endanger their enrollment/success at CSUMB.
