Dr. Doug Smith is collaborating with researchers at the MIIS Center for Blue Economy and SFSU on a risk assessment process for southern Monterey Bay. NOAA SeaGrant has funded the development a prototype model that will help cities and other stakeholders make bold coastal planning decisions based upon a probabilistic representation of future coastal threats.
