May 21, 2019

Environmental Studies (ENSTU) graduates, Caitlyn Barrera and Kianni Ledezma, alongside Dr. Victoria Derr recently published the climate impact report: "How a Changing Climate is Affecting Farmworkers in the Pájaro Valley." This report was published in partnership with Regeneracion: Pájaro Valley Climate Action.

Utilizing survey responses from self-reported agricultural workers, this policy analysis aims to provide solutions to better protect farmworkers in the wake of climate change. In addition, the authors put forth strategies for addressing environmental issues caused by climate change in the Pájaro Valley.

“There are very hot days. It’s causing a lot of health problems – you can get dehydrated easily – 2 years ago a horrible drought – it didn’t rain. Plants are getting infested by bugs because of environmental reasons/changes. It’s bad.” – Regeneración Survey Respondent
