Associate Professor of Biology & Chemistry Awarded $400,000 Grant from Genentech Foundation

Dr. Aparna Sreenivasan, Associate Professor of Biology & Chemistry of CSUMB’s College of Science, together with partners at University of California, Santa Cruz’s Institute for the Biology of Stem Cells (IBSC) were awarded a $400,000 grant from Genentech Foundation. The grant is seeking to close the gaps among underrepresented minority and first-generation STEM students that are on pathways toward postgraduate studies and careers. This shared accomplishment between Dr. Sreenivasan and UCSC IBSC partners highlight a more than 25-year relationship that will continue to benefit students seeking postdoctoral fellowships and careers in STEM.
