David Calloway '08: Doctoral Student

David Calloway was an HCOM major with a Concentration in Literary and Film Studies from 2006-2008. His Capstone Project was titled “On Double Consciousness and the Quest for Identity in American Literature.” He graduated with Distinction in the Major.

While an HCOM student, David also worked as a Beat writer for the newspaper, the Californian, and as a writing tutor for the writing center at CSUMB. After graduating from HCOM, he attended the San Diego State University as a graduate student in theDepartment of Rhetoric and Writing Studies from 2008 through 2010. While there, he worked as a Teaching Associate, taught course such as: RWS 100 and RWS 200 and worked as a writing tutor for course such as: RWS 92A, RWS 101, and RWS 280.

After graduating from San Diego State, I worked as a lecturer teaching courses for HCOM and Health, Human Services and Public Policy. Now David is a doctoral student at the University of Alberta with a 30,000 Canadian dollar scholarship.
