Louis Siebenmorgen Scholarship

The Louis Siebenmorgen Scholarship is open to Collaborative Health and Human Services (CHHS) Major students who were foster children or children of first-generation immigrants. This scholarship was created and funded by our own CHHS Professor, Dr. Jim Raines.

Food Resources

CalFresh

A nutrition assistance program that provides monthly funds for groceries for individuals and families. All CSUMB students are eligible! CalFresh Food benefits are placed on personal Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards that look just like credit or debit cards. These benefits can be used to purchase grocery items at places like Walmart, Trader Joe’s, Costco, and online vendors like Amazon for identified grocery items.

FreshAccess

A program that enables students to receive fresh produce at select local farmers markets. FreshAccess vouchers are redeemable at Everyone's Harvest and Monterey Bay Certified Farmers Markets.

The Hub

The Basic Needs Hub serves as the on-campus food pantry as well as a space for students to connect with resources to help them meet basic needs and to empower them to be successful, connected members of the student body and community at large.

Any enrolled student may visit The Hub to receive nonperishable grocery items, healthy produce, and grab and go snacks and prepared food.

Students can also receive drop-in CalFresh application assistance, farmers market vouchers, and information about nutrition, housing, and financial support programs at the Hub. 

Otter Bites

A supplemental snack pantry created by and maintained by the CHHS Program staff in collaboration with All In Monterey County. Otter Bites is available to the CSUMB community during the HHSPP Department posted business hours in Ocean Hall Suite D.  

All In Monterey County Giving Market and Food Drive

A local nonprofit providing free food weekly to the community via Giving Markets in Marina and a Food Drive Thru in Seaside, in partnership with the Food Bank for Monterey County and local grocers.

Financial Resources

CSUMB Emergency Fund

Financial assistance for students who may encounter temporary financial hardship due to unforeseen and catastrophic life events.
