Welcome Dr. Carolyn González
The School of World Languages and Cultures and the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences are pleased to announce that Carolyn González will join CSUMB as an Assistant Professor of Spanish Language and Literature to start in Fall 2019.
Dr. Carolyn González comes to us from the College of Idaho where she was an Assistant Professor of Spanish in the World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures Department. She earned her Ph.D. in Hispanic Languages & Literatures as well as an M.A. in Spanish and a Concentration in Women’s Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles. She has also worked as a Visiting Assistant Professor (Faculty Fellow) for the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at the University of California, Los Angeles. Her areas of specialization are in Latinx, Chicanx and Mexicana literatures and she has taught a wide range of courses from Introductory Spanish Language courses and Freshmen Writing courses to advanced courses in Latin American and Latinx Literatures. She is currently working on a book project focused on the representation of prostitution in literature by Mexicana authors.
