Estella Porras

Doctor Estella Porras is passionate about facilitating students' creativity, curiosity, and intellectual engagement. Her academic interest and professional work have been about the inclusion and empowerment of social groups through media, journalism, and communication. She has written for international newspapers, magazines, and radio over the years with the desire to facilitate conversations about issues of social transformation. 

She graduated from the Ph.D. program of the School of Journalism and Communication at the University of Oregon. Her Master's degree is from the Communication for International Development Program at Ohio University. She did her undergraduate studies at the Universidad Autónoma de Bucaramanga in her natal Colombia.
