Natalie Carbonel

Administrative Support Coordinator
Humanities & Communication

Natalie has always held CSUMB close to her heart. Long before it became a university, her uncles had basic training at Fort Ord, and her mother worked on the former base. A proud CSUMB alumna, Natalie earned her BA in Liberal Studies in December 2022. As a First Generation college graduate, she feels a deep sense of pride and fulfillment, knowing she achieved this milestone not just for herself, but for her family—and her two fur babies—as well.

Throughout her years at CSUMB, Natalie also worked as a Student Assistant for the renamed University Affairs, Ceremonies & Events, as well as the Conference & Events and Facilities Departments. She also had the privilege to work as a Residential Advisor for the Panetta Institute for their Congressional Internship Program. She credits her former supervisors for fostering a welcoming and supportive environment that allowed her to grow professionally, mentally, and emotionally—qualities she now strives to embody in her own workplace and professional relationships.

Having journeyed from student, Student Assistant, alumna, and now Staff member, Natalie brings a unique perspective to CSUMB. She is passionate about using her experiences to give back to the community and campus that helped shape her into the person she is today.

In her free time, Natalie enjoys organizing anything and everything, baking sweet treats, and spending time with her family and partner—whether that’s relaxing on the couch or heading out on both planned and spontaneous adventures.
