Fall 2015 applications for the ADN-BSN Completion program has been extended to March 1, 2015! Click here to find out more.

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree at CSUMB is offered through the Department of Extended Education. This program is exclusively an ADN-BSN degree completion program. At this time, we do not offer a "traditional", entry level, four-year BSN degree. All qualified graduates (or soon-to-be-graduates) of an approved Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program are eligible to apply to the BSN program. Admissions to the program occur in fall and spring semesters. Nursing coursework can be completed in approximately 15 months of full time study (depending on General Education requirements outstanding). Part-time study is available.

Coursework in the BSN program is designed to accommodate working RN's. All classes are held in the late afternoon and early evening. Most courses are taught in "hybrid" format, with a combination of live, face-to-face classes, and some online classes. Courses are scheduled Monday-Thursday evenings.

Priority admission given to RN's who are graduates of Monterey Peninsula, Cabrillo, Hartnell or Gavilan Colleges) OR who work in a health care agency in the tri-county area (Monterey, Santa Cruz, San Benito). Applications from RN's outside the tri-county region are also accepted and reviewed. Applicants must apply to CSUMB (via Mentor, AND to the nursing program); and have either completed the "golden four" required by CSU, or will have the courses completed at the end of fall semester 2014. Upon completion of all general education and program requirements, students receive a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from CSUMB.

A current California RN license is required before enrollment in the final two Community Health in Nursing courses (NURS490 and NURS499s).

The CSUMB nursing program has been approved by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

The baccalaureate degree in nursing at CSUMB is a new applicant pursuing initial accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, One Dupont Circle, NW, Suite 530, Washington, DC 20036, (202) 887-6791. New applicant status is neither a status of accreditation nor a guarantee that accreditation will be granted.
