Education Abroad

A Summer in Spain with Peter

Peter is a Business Administration major. He studied abroad at Universidad Pontificia Comillas in Spain (Summer 2023).

Higher education has always been a goal for my family and myself as a first-generation Mexican American. I've wanted to study abroad my entire time at CSUMB because it would allow me to travel, get to know a new culture, and, of course, continue working toward my degree. I can claim with assurance that I have developed enduring friendships with people from all around the world. Knowing that I put in a lot of effort and was rewarded with a once-in-a-lifetime experience has given me more confidence and trust in myself. As appreciative and fortunate as I was to have the opportunity to study abroad, this experience has sparked something in me, and I now have a new outlook on life.

Exploring a park in Madrid after class

Taking weekend trips was by far one of the most memorable experiences. Being able to travel around Europe was affordable and efficient by taking trains and buses. I was able to travel to Seville, Toledo, Barcelona, Segovia, Valencia.
