Students were invited to apply for the award by submitting a statement on how the funds would further their academic and/or career goals, giving specific examples and providing an itemized budget.  The awards will be used for student travel to conferences to attend/present research; purchase supplies and equipment for research and academic projects; preparing and paying for graduate exams including the GRE, LSAT, and MCAT; and purchasing professional clothing for internships and interviews.  An optional information session was held in early October by CAHSS Interim Dean James Hussar to provide insight on the application process, tips on how to write a successful statement, and answer student questions.  We will hold a second round of applications next semester, CAHSS majors can expect an email with details in the new year.

The awards are made possible through a generous donation from CSUMB Foundation Board Member and CAHSS Dean's Advisory Council member Debbie Juran.

Congratulations, Otters!
