I joined CSUMB in April of 2020. I was hired about 2 weeks after everyone was sent home due to the Pandemic. The most rewarding part of my job in the Dean’s office is seeing how the operations really run, seeing the students attending class, students needing directions and help, and meeting the  faculty face to face. I really enjoy the fast pace and wide variety of duties and responsibilities in the Dean’s office. I always wanted to be a math teacher and work in the school system and am so happy and satisfied working here at CSUMB.

Prior to joining CSUMB, I worked in the Silicon Valley, IBM (later to become Hitachi/Western Digital).  I worked there for 34 years and started my career as a Manufacturing Operator in the Cleanroom on the graveyard shift. Over the years I became team leader of my area, taught New Employee  Orientation classes, taught Leadership classes, worked in Quality Process Control Dept, and 10 years into my career became a Manufacturing Manager. I worked all three different teams, managed 20-40 employees at a time, was responsible for Productivity, Quality, management of personnel and basically the overall success of the department. At the time, working in the Corporate world was
exciting and very challenging but as I decided to change careers and do something different, I have been very happy. Seeing how the education system works and engaging with students and faculty really fulfills something that I missed working in the corporate world all of those years.

I have lived in California all of my life! I was born and raised in San Jose, CA and moved to Hollister, CA, 35 years ago to raise my family. I have a daughter, 2 sons and 4 grandchildren. I have been married to my husband for 34 years, and I must say our lives thrive around our children and grandchildren. Outside of work we love to travel, watch and attend professional baseball and football games, and go to all of our grandchildren’s sports events. I love the summertime, the outdoors, the oceans and entertaining and inviting others to our home. I also love to do yardwork, plant flowers, shop and decorate my home!
