CAHSS Graduation Stories: Adolfo Gonzalez
Adolfo Gonzalez, Spanish Major, Receives Service Learning Award
Congratulations to Adolfo Gonzalez, Spanish Language and Hispanic Cultures Major, who recently received the Service Learning Award for his extraordinary service to the Salinas Adult School as part of his CSUMB Service Learning experience.
In the Fall of 2018, Adolfo demonstrated great compassion and genuine interest in serving the Salinas Adult School, where he was once a student earning his GED before his academic studies at Hartnell College and CSUMB. He helped students at the school with the acquisition of literacy skills and interpersonal communication skills needed to successfully participate in and contribute to society.
He was employed as a farm worker for 16 years, and is now graduating in 3 semesters as a transfer student with a 3.85 GPA. Adolfo hopes to pursue his teaching credential so that he can make impactful contributions to learners of all abilities in Monterey County.
