Mission

The College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences offers a liberal arts education that fosters critical thinking, creativity, communication, social responsibility, intercultural competence, and lifelong learning. We advance knowledge of the human experience and empower students to thrive in a complex world.

Vision

We aspire to provide local access to a world-class education and serve as a cultural, artistic, and intellectual hub within the community.

 

Strategic Priorities and Goals

    • Strengthen academic programs
    • Equip faculty and students with the tools and resources they need to achieve student learning outcomes

    • Deliver quality support services to improve student retention and graduation rates
    • Enhance opportunities and experiences that prepare students for future academic and professional success

    • Promote the well-being, morale, and sense of community for students, faculty, and staff
    • Recruit and retain diverse groups of staff, faculty, and student

    Committee Members:  Kaiqi Hua, Hector Dionicio Mendoza Anguiano, Jazzy Sabado, Shigeko Sekine, Shannon Snapp, Sylvia Turchin, Jeremias Zunguze, Patrick Belanger (ex officio)

    • Streamline and improve administrative processes
    • Define and implement shared governance through the development of bylaws, processes, procedures, and operations
