Our team maintains campus parking lots and provides a number of transportation resources and services to the Otter community.
We offer a variety of services and resources, from our own campus shuttle to connecting you with local resources.
Get where you need to go with our free shuttle service. No Otter ID is required to use the Wave shuttle. Free shuttle service runs on:
Weekdays: 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. on a continuous loop between East and Main Campus (about 27 minutes per loop).
Weekends: 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on a continuous loop through East and Main Campus, the Dunes Commercial Center, Promontory, and North Quad.
All Wave shuttles are equipped with bike racks, as well as cameras for your safety and security.
You may also access maps and pick-up locations, plus track the shuttle in real-time with LIFTANGO.
Accessible parking spaces are available and clearly marked in campus lots. Vehicles using these spaces must display both a valid CSUMB permit and a valid DMV-issued placard or plate.
Paratransit services are available through Monterey-Salinas Transit under the MST RIDES program.
Call 831-655-0268 to request a Night Walk.
The Night Walk Service provides escorts between main campus locations to anyone regardless of their affiliation with CSUMB. Escorts will be provided on foot and are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The service is provided by CSO’s Monday through Friday evenings from 6:30 pm to midnight during the Fall and Spring semesters, and police officers during the times CSO’s are not staffed.

Want a safer way to get around late at night? The Late Night Otter Rides program offers Lyft vouchers that make after‑hours travel reliable and affordable for registered CSUMB students.
We’re a nationally recognized bicycle-friendly campus. Learn more about biking to and around campus, plus find safety tips and repair info.
You can use your Otter ID to take regional public transportation for free during the academic year. Learn more about where Monterey-Salinas Transit can take you.
Whether you’re looking for a quick ride to town or want to rent a car for a day trip, you have local options.
If you’re traveling beyond Monterey County, you can find regional connections to your destination by bus, train, or plane.
We collaborate with other members of the CSUMB community to continually improve our services:
Our team contributes to University sustainability goals in many ways. This includes aiming to reduce use of single-occupancy vehicles and double the percent of bicycle, walking, carpool and bus/shuttle commute trips each by 2030.
