Updates for Spring 2022
Here are some important things students need to know about Spring 2022. This information will help clarify key updates taking place in the upcoming semester.
Per CSU policy, all students, whether attending in-person or virtually, are required to submit their vaccination status to the Otter Vaccination Registry (OVR) for Spring 2022.
Students who have already submitted and received confirmation of their COVID-19 vaccination status attestation and documentation verified to the Otter Vaccination Registry do not need to resubmit. All students who registered as in-progress or are not registered are required to submit their vaccination status into the OVR no later than Dec. 17.
More information regarding the CSU COVID-19 vaccination policy and required COVID-19 testing for those registering with a vaccination exemption can be found at CSUMB’s COVID-19 webpage. Exempted-unvaccinated and in-progress-of-vaccination students who attend class in person or live on campus are required to test weekly during the semester.
If you experience technical issues uploading your document in the OVR, please email the Otter Vaccination Registry your vaccination status information and documentation.
While we are planning that the majority of classes will return to in-person for Spring 2022, there will still be a few more courses with synchronous and asynchronous virtual components than before the pandemic. Be sure to check your schedules to confirm the type of courses in which you are registered. You can recognize these different formats or "modes" by looking at the days and times column and the room column of the class schedule.
Types of courses:
- Always in person (on campus)
- Always synchronous virtual (Zoom class meetings)
- Always asynchronous (no class meetings; students complete all work online)
- Hybrid (mixed), meetings in person (on campus) and synchronous (Zoom)
- Hybrid (mixed), meetings synchronous (Zoom) and asynchronous (online work)
- Hybrid concurrent, some students attend class meetings in person (on campus), and other students attend the same class meetings virtually (Zoom)
As a reminder, masks are still required in all CSUMB buildings whether you are vaccinated or not. CSUMB provides free COVID-19 rapid/antigen testing at the Otter Student Union for all students. Students can also get vaccinations at the Campus Health Clinic.
Student should be mindful to stay vigilant in their personal protective measures:
- Wear a mask and change or clean your masks often.
- Thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after you have been in a public space. If soap and water are not readily available, use hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
- Monitor for COVID-19 symptoms. If you are ill, stay home.
- Get a flu shot.
All current dining options will be available in spring, with a variety of fresh food for different preferences and dietary needs. Check out dining's daily menus and operation hours. Hours during winter break will vary. If you are staying on campus, make sure you review their full hours of operation. Regular hours will resume on Jan. 24, 2022.
Don’t forget, each meal plan comes with five guest passes that expire at the end of each semester.
Tuition and fees are due by Jan. 5, 2022. All payments must be received and cashiered on or before this date. Student Accounts does not consider postmarked dates as paid. To ensure that your payment is received before the deadline, you must pay online.
You can find out how much you owe by logging in to your CSUMB Dashboard and going to OASIS. Your most current account balance will be in your Student Center. See instructions on how to log in and view your account balances. For more information regarding tuition and payments, please visit the cost and aid webpage.
If you notice you have any holds on your OASIS account, you can review each hold to determine how to get these removed. Some holds will prevent your ability to register or to get transcripts. Please make sure you clear all holds on your account as soon as possible.
Student parking permits are available for purchase. Parking permits will be required on campus and are sold through the online permit store.
Residential students in North Quad and Promontory who wish to park in their building lots will need to purchase permits. There is a limited number of permits available.
Campus offices will be open through Dec. 23 and will reopen on Jan. 3, 2022. Please continue to check department websites to verify office-specific operating hours.
Residence Halls close on Dec. 18 at noon and will reopen on Jan. 21, 2022, at 9 a.m. If you are staying over break, you were required to register to retain access to your building.
