The CHC provides private, personalized care with an emphasis on prevention and self-responsibility that include contraceptive education, complete examination (no charge), PAP (no charge), and other lab tests (at no charge or discounted rates depending upon the test), as well as health counseling.
- Please refrain from sexual activity for at least 72 hours prior to your PAP to ensure test accuracy.
As of January 1, 2023, the CHC, as directed in Senate Bill 24, provides abortion by medication services to CSUMB students. Learn more.
The CHC also provides medical counseling for gender-affirming care. Please contact the Campus Health Center at 831-582-3965 for more information.
Condoms are always available at no charge at the CHC.
Birth control refills: PLEASE allow at least a 48-hour notice for birth control or other refills for prescriptions originally prescribed at the CHC. You may call 831-582-3965 to request your refills. Remember to clearly state your name, phone number, and prescription information. The CHC is NOT a retail pharmacy so we are unable to sell over-the-counter medications or devices and can ONLY refill prescriptions that were originally prescribed at this clinic.
Fees for services are due and payable at time of service. The Campus Health Center (CHC) accepts cash, check, Money Order, Visa, Master card, Discover, American Express, and ATM/Debit cards. The CHC is able to bill some PPO medical insurance carriers or provide a statement that the student may submit to their insurance carrier for reimbursement. Unfortunately, the CHC is unable to bill HMOs. See our Fees web page for more information.
Members of the campus community, including faculty, staff, and dependents of students may also access services at the Campus Health Center (CHC), but costs are not covered through the Student Health fee and are not eligible for the discounted student rate. The CHC offers a reasonable fee for all services, and accepts some PPO and other non-HMO insurance plans. Please confirm coverage with your provider prior to receiving services at the CHC.
