Cody J. Roberts

Cody J. Roberts is a “proud product of the CSU” holding both a B.A and M.A from CSU Chico.

He successfully defended his thesis project “How It Felt To Run” in April of 2023 and delivered his Graduate Program’s commencement speech shortly thereafter in May 2023.

Cody's focuses within his teaching and studies surround the concept of politicized identity, based in both academic and creative writing. He aims to provide students a reinvention of Contemporary Literary Canon, as well as further understanding of identity in scholarly work.

Currently, he is working on a secondary research project based on his interest in student identity, and the pedagogy of "self-implication" within academia, via writing and reading instruction. Cody teaches across multiple disciplines including Literary Editing and Publishing, Composition, Public Speaking, as well as Ethics and Practices– With students who are "constantly inspiring, teaching, and pushing him beyond the content."

Roberts’ M.A thesis, "How It Felt To Run" is available on scholarworks.
