What is BankMobile?

California State University, Monterey Bay has teamed up with BankMobile Disbursements, a technology solution powered by BMTX, Inc., to deliver your student refund.

How do I get a Personal Code?

Look for your Refund Selection Kit in the mail. It will arrive in a bright green envelope and contain your personal code. You will also receive an email from BankMobile containing your code. Once you have it, follow these easy steps:

  1. Visit RefundSelection.com
  2. Enter your unique Personal Code from the green envelope or email (or select "Need a Code?" for instant access, and use School Name: California State University, Monterey Bay)
  3. Enter your Shared Secret (Date of Birth as MMDD and Last 5 Digits of your 9-digit Student ID)
    EXAMPLE: If your birthday is May 12th and your 9-digit Student ID is 123456789, your Shared Secret would be 051256789
  4. Select how you’d like to receive your money

You can change your refund preference at any time for future refunds.

Please keep in mind that you may not have a refund pending at this time. However, we encourage you to select your refund preference in advance to avoid a delay in receiving any potential student refunds.

What are the 3 refund preferences I have to choose from?*

DEPOSIT TO AN EXISTING ACCOUNT (1-2 business days)
Money is transferred to an existing account the same business day BankMobile receives funds from your school.  

PAPER CHECK DELIVERED BY USPS (5-7 business days)
A check is mailed the same business day BankMobile receives funds from your school, provided receipt is within daily cutoff times.

DEPOSIT TO A BANKMOBILE VIBE ACCOUNT (Same business day)
If you open a BankMobile Vibe checking account (upon identity verification), money is deposited the same business day BankMobile receives funds from your school. To view a list of fees associated with the BankMobile Vibe Checking account, click here.

*Please note: if you do not choose a refund preference, your student refund may be delayed by approximately 4 weeks.
