CSUMB Expands AI Resources for Faculty and Staff
CSUMB is rolling out new AI initiatives to support faculty and staff in integrating artificial intelligence into teaching, research, and campus operations. As part of the CSU system’s broader AI strategy, these efforts will provide access to AI tools, training, and systemwide resources through the CSU AI Commons Hub.
A key part of this initiative is a ChatGPT EDU license, available soon for all students, staff, and faculty for the next 18 months. This plan includes access to GPT-4o, along with advanced features like data analytics, web browsing, document summarization, and the ability to build and share custom GPTs. It also supports over 50 languages, offers higher message limits, and includes robust security and administrative controls to ensure safe and effective use.
The rollout will begin soon, with more details on access, training opportunities, and best practices to follow. Keep an eye on your CSUMB email and check back for updates on how to get started with these new AI tools. For access to free training, check out the Generative AI Support webpage.
