Our Mission
The Helen Rucker Center engages and empowers students, faculty, staff, and community members, through academic, professional, and cultural programming centered in the wisdom, heritage, and histories of the African Diaspora. The Center serves as a regional hub for advancement, scholarship, and engagement of the African Diaspora and people from all backgrounds.
Our Vision
The Helen Rucker Center for Black Excellence strives to provide transformative student experiences through goal oriented programming and strategic service and resource offerings. Students who engage with the center during their time at Cal State Monterey Bay will develop the skills, network, experience, and mindset needed to become the next generation of leaders and change makers that will uplift African Diaspora people and communities around the world.
