Zero Waste Move Out
Sort it, don't trash it! Participate in CSUMB's biggest waste diversion event of the year!
Moving out? SORT your waste, recyclable and reusable items into the appropriate container.
Staff who would stand near sorting locations are the MOST IMPORTANT part of insuring students sort their items instead of placing them in the trash.

Zero Waste Move Out
The best tip we can give you is to start early!
What is Zero Waste?
Zero Waste is the economic, ethical, and efficient goal that we redesign product lifestyles to more closely mimic the natural cycle where all products are designed to serve as other products or for other people when it is no longer useful for the current owner. That means that any items which you cannot or should not bring home with you this summer should be either donated, recycled, or stored for the coming year. Your “landfill” pile should be about 5% of the total product that is leaving your dorm, apartment, or house.
