  • Tom Steyer Speaks at the MBEP State of the Region 2020

    Join the MBEP State of the Region 2020 with special guest Tom Steyer!! "Tom Steyer left his successful investing business to give his own money, time, and energy to fighting for progressive causes. He soon became one of the country’s leading forces in registering more young voters and voters of color, fighting climate change, working for racial justice, and helping secure better lives for all Americans. He co-chaired Vice President Biden's Climate Engagement Advisory Council to help mobilize climate voters and is a former Democratic presidential candidate. He now serves as co-chair for Governor Newsom's Business and Jobs Recovery Task Force. Mr. Steyer will share how California is building an equitable, resilient, and sustainable economic recovery." There is a fee of $59.99 to attend this event.

    Hey Otters! Did you know there are more than 5,000 indigenous communities and they speak around 4,000 different languages? Come join us at a virtual event hosted by CSUN, "An Afternoon with Madonna Thunder Hawk & Elizabeth Castle" on Thursday, November 5th from 4:00-5:30 PM! The event will be a virtual screening of the documentary film Warrior Women, the story of American Indian Movement (AIM) Leader Madonna Thunder Hawk. Dr. Elizabeth Castle, the film’s director, will join Madonna Thunder Hawk for a discussion and Q&A via Zoom, with an opportunity to learn more about Native rights advocacy.
