University President

Legacy of Service

Celebrations and Events

It is traditional for long-serving, retiring university presidents to attend and hold opportunities to thank various constituent groups for their collaboration and contributions to the university's success. For CSUMB, these groups are: students, faculty and staff, and the community.

Visionary Leaders Awards Gala

The 2020 Visionary Innovator Award Gala held on April 22, 2022, was initially scheduled for April 2020 but was postponed by the pandemic. The event was originally designed to accomplish two goals in 2020 — honor our first Visionary Innovator Award recipient, Julie Packard, and close out the end of our 25th anniversary celebration. Due to delays caused by the pandemic, the anniversary celebration was replaced with a farewell to President Eduardo M. Ochoa and involved community leaders and significant philanthropic contributors to the university.
