Otter Cross Cultural Center

OC3 Hxstory

Created in 2010 by a group of students who wished for a more inclusive campus at CSUMB, the Otter Cross Cultural Center (OC3) provides resources and a space for those in our campus community. These students––Leslie Grinner, Drea Elzy, Brittany Car, and others––wanted to ensure students of all backgrounds would feel supported and work together to cultivate an inclusive future. Today, the OC3 is an integral part of the Otter Student Union.

The Center hosts a number of recurring signature events at CSUMB, such as Werk Witch Drag Show and the Affinity Graduation Ceremonies, as well as introduces an array of new programs each semester. These programs develop Otter pride throughout our campus as well as connect and build pipelines with our surrounding communities in the Monterey Peninsula. The OC3 has grown from its humble beginnings to be the heart of CSUMB in our new Otter Student Union building.

Over the years, the OC3 has continued to add passionate individuals to its history. Currently, our three professional staff and our seven student coordinators work in collaboration with each other and other campus departments to create events and dialogue around social justice issues.

Take a walk through our journey for justice!
