University Corporation mail is delivered to Ryan Ranch by the United States Postal Service.
Our mission is to ensure you receive your packages in a timely manner. To make sure this happens, please be sure to follow these steps:
Urgent Mail
If departments are aware of important mail/packages/etc, please submit a service request with the following information:
- Timeline of delivery
- Who the package is addressed to
- Building address, Building number (Suite number, if applicable)
- Tracking number/Carrier
Facilities Management will work to prioritize delivery and will contact the requestor on timelines and ability to complete.
If departments have time-sensitive mail that needs to be metered, please notify the mailroom via a service request so that they can prioritize the request. This may impact the overall schedule so advance notice is helpful for planning purposes.
Mail Sorting and Addressing
The Campus Mailroom sorts mail daily upon receipt from the United States Postal Service (USPS). Sometimes, mail received does not have enough detail to sort to its final destination. This causes delays in the mail reaching its intended recipient.
Please ask your vendors, clients, supporters, donors and others sending mail to campus to address mail to include the name of the individual, the department name and location (building name or number), and the university address.
Example for Students:
Monte Rey
Cal State Monterey Bay
Yarrow Hall, Room 512
3035 Divarty St.
Seaside, CA 93933
For Residence Hall and East Campus Housing mail details, please go to the Mail and Packages webpage.
Example for Employees:
Julie Wyrick
Cal State Monterey Bay
Facilities Management, Building 37
100 Campus Center
Seaside, CA 93955
Additionally, sometimes mail is returned to the sender. If there is not sufficient information on the return address label, the Mailroom is not able to get the returned mail to the proper department. Please include the same level of detail on your return addresses. If sending mail from campus, please include your name or department name, building name or number, and the campus address:
Return address example:
Human Resources
Tide Hall
Cal State Monterey Bay
100 Campus Center
Seaside, CA 93955
Outgoing Mail
Outgoing mail will be picked up by building on the delivery schedule. Outgoing mail will be metered and placed for pick up by USPS one time per week on Fridays.
As a reminder, employees should not use our university mail services to send or receive their personal mail so that we can ensure the resource is focused on official university business and supporting student needs.
We are committed to mailroom improvement, finding and implementing solutions that work for all, and upholding quality levels of customer service. Updates will be posted on the Shipping and Receiving webpage.
Please contact Julie Wyrick, Associate Vice President of Facilities Management, if you have any questions or ideas for improvement.
