Take care of yourself - avoid screen burnout!

With all this time online, it is easy to burnout on screen time. Screen burnout is when you have been sitting at a computer, tablet, or phone screen for long periods of time. You may notice your eyes hurting or feeling dry. This is one reason you should step away from your screen every so often. Whatever the case may be, burnout and your motivation are connected. When you feel burnout your motivation is lowered. Keep tabs on why you may feel unmotivated. Here are some of our best recommendations:

  • Using timed work intervals, like the Pomodoro technique, can keep you disciplined while also allowing you to take breaks.
  • Set a timer for 20-40 minutes, depending on what you need. Remember, you know your attention span best.
  • After that time, take a 5-10 minute break to go to the bathroom, drink water, stretch, and/or have a small snack.
